|Easter Saturday at Oakbank is one of the jewels in the South Australian racing calendar.
The Easter Racing Carnival has been one of South Australiaâs premier social and sporting occasions for almost 150 years, and the annual pilgrimage to the Adelaide Hills track is for many a family tradition that goes back generations. Uniquely among SA race courses, racegoers can bring their own picnics and barbeques, and by the time racing begins the car park is awash with marquees, tents and barbeques as families and friends soak up the unique country racing atmosphere.
Oakbank Easter Saturday will feature the Great Eastern Steeplechase. Gates will open at 7am.
The easiest way to get to and from the Oakbank Easter Carnival. One way bus transport is just $10, with a return fare only $20.

|Lutheran Churches in Hahndorf - Annual Open Doors Weekend|

|Open Doors Weekend is a special weekend in South Australia where you can enter buildings not normally open to the public. It is part of the lead up to History Month.
This easy paced walking tour takes you inside St Michael's and St Paul's Lutheran churches and to the forgotten Lutheran church off the main street. A comfortable distance of 1.5km down our beautiful avenue of trees.
Understand the reason for the immigration of the Old Lutherans and why they left their homeland to come to South Australia in 1838, (and then Klemzig) to come up to the Adelaide Hills.

Our wine and music fundraiser will support the homeless families in Sumatra, to provide much needed shelter, education and daily living supplies.
100% of the door proceeds and 20% of wine sales will be donated towards supporting the homeless women and children that live in the slums at the local market in our little village in Sumatra to provide food, shelter, clothing and education. Our goal for this year is to build a little school room, support a teachers salary and buy much needed school supplies and clothing for the homeless children.
|Hahndorf Band Festival|

|The event, now in its twelfth year, is the major âentertainmentâ contest for community bands on the South Australian band calendar, and has now made its mark as a regular feature of the cultural calendar in this historic Adelaide Hills town.
The Hahndorf Band Festival will be held on Saturday 11th May 2019 in the landmark Hahndorf Pioneer Memorial Gardens, located in the main street.
On-stage entertainment will begin at 10.30 a.m. and will feature the Hahndorf Town Band with at least six other bands from around South Australia each performing a 30 minute entertainment programme designed to woo the audience and impress the adjudicator.
Entrance is FREE, and the public can enjoy local live community music, and soak up the festival atmosphere in the park, with food, drink and market stalls available, all within Hahndorfâs popular main street precinct.
This event brings together the wonderful talents of our stateâs community musicians, soloists, and conductors for what is always a most memorable and enjoyable day of music, entertainment and camaraderie.

|There are some excellent examples of Fachwerk construction in Hahndorf.
Sharon from Hahndorf Walking Tours will be taking guests to various locations in the village to visit those sites. Included is a 30 minute talk and demonstration.
The 10.30am tour will include a demonstration of hand hewing lumber using traditional woodworking tools. The 2.00pm tour will show cutting a mortise and tenon joint.
This part of the tour will be undertaken by Mr Chris Hein, who has an Advanced Masters degree in Archaeological Science from ANU, and whose experimental archaeology thesis project
(a Fachwerk frame) will be displayed. Refreshment provided.

Admission to general events is free, and food, wine and other beverages can be purchased separately.
The official souvenir wine glass is available for $10 at all general events and is your 'passport' to purchase wine wherever you go.

|This year the annual âSt Nicholas comes to Hahndorfâ event will again begin at the historic St Paulâs Lutheran Church, where children will gather and participate in a craft activity thatâs sure to be fun for them all.
Parents will be entertained by musical entertainment and a free sausage sizzle.
The tradition of St Nicholas reminds us all about the spirit of giving, and the âSt Nicholas Bootâ will again be rolled down the street and available to collect any public donation to the event's selected charity.
The whole community is invited to come and join in with the fun on Friday 6th December at 6.00pm at St Paulâs Church Hall, and to see the procession leave St Paulâs car-park at 7.00pm.
|All British Day 2020|

|All British Day 2020 will be held on Sunday 9th February.
A multi-club, picnic day in the Adelaide Hills with hundreds of British vehicles from 1900 to the present day, including cars, motorbikes, commercials, farming and stationery engines plus displays and entertainment for all ages.
In 2020 we celebrate the Armstrong -Siddeley marque - more info later.
Held in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at Echunga Oval, after a drive into the Hills, our Trade stands and local food bring a fete atmosphere to Echunga.
We encourage youngsters to attend and will have things for them to do - we will advise these when confirmed.
Visitors have free parking and car display will be ready for public entry from 10.30am to 3pm.
The proceeds go to charities and good causes, so come along and support this event.
Entrants can apply via the website when entries open in early October - Visitors can just turn up on the day.
