Famous for his paintings and drawings of the Adelaide Hills (where he lived just out of Hahndorf at a property called The Cedars) and the Flinders Ranges, Heysen was also a conservationist. Emerging and established artists have responded with works depicting majestic mountain ranges in the Flinders Ranges, dry desert lands, coastal scenes, urban streetscapes and bushfire affected areas. Each landscape has a story which as been captured by artists in a diverse cross section of media including painting, drawing, ceramics, textile, photography, glass, sculpture, video and prints.

Many people are familiar with the Seven Summits challenge, where a climber must summit the highest peaks on seven different continents (a number of Australian women have already achieved this goal) but to qualify for the Seven-Seven, Sarah not only conquered the Seven Summits, but also the seven highest volcanic peaks across the world in some of the most remote locations on earth.
