The Megalong Australian Heritage Centre is part of a unique Pioneering Homestead set in the heart of the magnificent Blue Mountains of NSW. It reflects the lifestyles of the pioneers from the past through to today, together with shows and demonstrations for pre booked groups. Explore what makes culture unique, our language our heritage and our sense of humour. In a fun and entertaining manner, we bring the overseas visitor into our world - our slang – our layback style, our look - and our genuine love of people. The property is easily accessible by sealed road and is just 90 minutes from Sydney. With over 2000 acres to explore including tours, guided bushwalks and treks by horse. The Country Farm Tour include Australian Stockman demonstrations, kangaroos, flora and fauna. The Farm Tour includes the following activities: Visiting the old pioneers bush farm and the rustic Outback Woolshed 'Country Pub', Enjoy a Wildlife Walk with a chance of seeing native flora and fauna and farming animals, try boomerang throwing and whip cracking, view the pioneer barn museum and homestead. Traditional Lunch and Stockman's Drovers Campsite includes a traditional Aussie BBQ lunch with rural displays and entertainment with Billy Tea and Damper around the camp fire. Includes a half-hour show from a Stockman who demonstrates the art of whip cracking and more. |
