Home: a suburban obsession is about the allure of home and the stories found within, inspired by one of the largest digitised photographic collections of Queensland houses. It explores the social and emotional foundations of houses through ephemera and artistic responses capturing the places we call home.

During the 1960s and 70s, Frank and Eunice roamed the suburbs photographing houses in South-East Queensland. Fifty years on, the legacy of their efforts is an extensive collection of images that indiscriminately capture Queensland housing stock – from the architectural to the ramshackle.

Learn more about the interesting stories behind the photographs that have been embraced by a community infatuated with Frank and Eunice Corley’s work.

Through an immersive virtual reality streetscape, art installations, incredible untold stories and rarely-seen photographs, peer through the Corleys’ viewfinder to see just a glimpse of their extraordinary obsession.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

Luluc 'Sculptor' Tour
Date Fri 18th Jan 2019
Mistletone presents an intimate Brisbane show by Melbourne-born, Brooklyn-based duo Luluc (Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett), launching their sublime new album Sculptor.

Sculptor has won huge acclaim including Feature Album (Double J, Sydney Morning Herald, RRR, RTR, 2SER and FBi) and glowing 4 star reviews from The Age, Uncut, Mojo and The Guardian.

While Luluc's music is at times masterful in its minimalism, it is anything but quiet in impact. There’s a before you hear Luluc’s music, and an after — a turning point that affects people with rare force. Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney says “it’s music that once you hear it, you can’t live without it”. The National’s Matt Berninger said that for months, Passerby (Mistletone, 2014) was “the only album I wanted to listen to”. “What first hits is that voice,” writes Peter Blackstock (No Depression),“a peaceful serenity that reaches deep into the heart.”

Sculptor is out now on Mistletone locally and Sub Pop worldwide.

Adding to the fear factor, You Got This will feature a host of new crazy contraptions that have no business flying through the air, along with a few other surprises that will be revealed as the tour dates near.

Earlier in 2018, Allen appeared on ‘American Idol’, performing a powerful duet of ‘Unaware’ with contestant Dennis Lorenzo and blew judges away with his powerful vocals, including Lionel Richie who amazed, said - ‘That was spectacular’. His latest release, ‘Warriors’ was first performed at the Special Olympics opening ceremony in Seattle earlier this year, where Stone was back during the performance by a 2,000-member choir. Commenting on the song, Allen stated ‘This song came in a period of struggle. Inspiration hadn’t come through to visit for a while. I had felt like I was just pushing a big rock up a hill while wearing flip-flops. I was reminded in that moment that true success comes when you face adversity head on and push through those moments of hardship. Walk tall like Warriors even when terrified’.

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber book by Julian Fellowes lyrics by Glenn Slater.

Andrew Lloyd Webber, the man who brought rock and romance to Broadway, is back with a new heart-stirring hit. School of Rock is a New York Times Critics’ Pick and “an inspiring jolt of energy, joy and mad skillz!” (Entertainment Weekly). Reuters raves “Andrew Lloyd Webber has Broadway rocking again!”

Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful but uptight headmistress, helping her rediscover the wild child within. (The New York Times says, “Be Warned! There’s a love story in this one.”)

Featuring 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and all the original songs from the movie, this high-octane smash hit delivers face-melting guitar riffs and touching romance in equally awesome doses!

(A transaction fee of AUD7.20 applies per transaction).
