Woongarra Marine Park in the Bundaberg region offers some of Queenslands most accessible shore diving including this site at Barolin Rocks. The rocky coastline provides you with plenty of colourful hard and soft corals to explore only a few metres from the shore.

For Four Wheel Drive enthusiasts, Coongarra Rock and Falls provide an opportunity to explore rocky outcrops, caves, rock pools and natural vegetation. It is possible to climb the rock but should only be attempted by fit and experienced bushwalkers.

Melaleuca Track

Burrum Coast National Park conserves essential habitat for wildlife of the coastal vegetation communities. Remarkable cabbage tree palm forests are one of several coastal lowland vegetation types protected in the Woodgate section of this park. The Melaleuca track passes through wallum vegetation and around saltpans, paperbark swamps and mangroves.

Coral Gardens Dive Site


Lady Elliot Island

The Coral Gardens at Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef is a very interesting shore dive with a maximum depth of around 12 metres. The gardens were damaged by a cyclone in 1992 but have recovered remarkably since then.

Kinkuna section of Burrum Coast National Park preserves a wilderness area of coastal vegetation and wide, unspoilt beaches, just 30 kilometres south of Bundaberg.

There is a wide variety of flora and fauna to be observed in Cania Gorge National Park. More than 150 plant species grow in the brigalow forest, eucalypt and cypress pine woodlands, dry rainforest and grassland. In excess of 90 species of birds have been recorded in the park.

Lake Cania is situated north of the Cania Gorge National Park about 11 kilometres from the Cania Gorge Picnic Area. The lake sits on the banks of Three Moon Creek which is a tributary of the Burnett River.
