Opera Underground? Literally! The Underground Opera Company is pleased to announce their inaugural Concert at The Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton. The Cathedral is the show-piece of the Capricorn Caves and will provide the most unique, intimate Opera and light opera concert you will have ever experienced, with some of the best voices you will have heard, in an environment you may never have seen. The Underground Opera Company was formed to provide regional centres of Australia with professional concerts in extraordinary environments, namely underground mines, tunnels and caves. Producer Bruce Edwards has been working underground for the last 16 years in mines and tunnels around Australia and has finally melded his two passion together; mining and opera. Opera Underground is a collaboration of popular pieces from opera and light opera’s most famous productions. These include Carmen, Madame Butterfly, The Barber of Seville, Les Miserables, Cats and, of course, the immortal Nessun Dorma from Turandot. |
