Wyong Community Choir

Wyong locals, Travellers and Tourists welcome, join the choir for a night or longer, and make some musical memories. Their fully sponsored rehearsal venue at The Wyong Neighbourhood Centre, is a community space and Non-profit organization. The fully inclusive Wyong Community Choir will meet at the centre which has comfortable seating and a lovely acoustic hall for the choir to use.

The choir is led by local performer, comedian and arts director Sandy Bigara. Sandy is the conductor of the PVL Aged Choir in Umina, and the Gosford Community Choir in Gosford and runs Sandy Bigara Arts and Entertainment, and The StarViking.
There will be a focus on fun, the song list for 2018 is full to the brim with firm favourites.

Each session includes vocal training and development, motivating, welcoming and encouraging singers of all skill levels. Sandy’s focus is on providing positive, happy and safe musical learning experiences for adults and children on the Central Coast. The eagerly anticipated Wyong Community Choir is set to be a lot of fun. With thanks to Wyong Neighbourhood Centre Inc. for their generous assistance and sponsorship.

That Place In Between

Award winning local choreographer Cadi McCarthy brings this exciting new dance-theatre work to life, unravelling the emotional turbulence that rises from periods of transition. Where situations have arisen out of their control.

Based on a series of characters, That Place In Between looks at the games people play to cover insecurities, the facades people develop to conceal their real identity, and the masks and devices they use to deal with the tenuous world around them. Featuring an outstanding dance ensemble, Catapult will launch this new work this October.

The Davistown Putt Putt Regatta and Wooden Boat Festival is a great event and also an opportunity for the people to celebrate the Central Coast and the culture that is a part of history, heritage and local character.

Many putt-putt boats are still in use on Brisbane Water today. Putt-putt boats usually range in length from 14-18 feet and are powered by either single or twin cylinder two to 10 hp Blaxland/Chapman, Simplex or Clay inboard petrol driven engines all of which make the very familiar putt-putt exhaust sound. Boats today will also often be powered by small one or two cylinder diesel engines.

The Regatta is now one of the principal events on the Gosford City calendar. The Davistown Putt Putt Regatta and Wooden Boat Festival attracts a huge amount of quality putt putts travelling from as far as Queensland and the ACT.

They also look to provide a family focussed day where the local community and visitors can have an enjoyable day in a safe and family friendly environment. The Regatta has the reputation of being the largest event of its kind on the eastern seaboard.

Central Coast Scottish Spectacular: Concert

Whet your appetite for the Central Coast Scottish Spectacular with a concert experience showcasing World renowned piper and BBC commentator Bob Worrall, The Canberra Burns Club Pipe Band, The Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band, and Highland and Scottish Country Dancers.

About the performers:

They are very proud to welcome Bob Worrall as their special guest judge at the Central Coast Scottish Spectacular 2018. He is well known around the globe as a piper, judge, ensemble expert, and BBC commentator for the World Pipe Band Championships.

The Canberra Burns Club Pipe Band has been representing Scottish culture in Canberra since 1928 and have since gone on to play all around the world.

Founded in 1977, the Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band was originally known as the Windsor and District Scottish Pipe Band, and then the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe and as such they competed and performed both locally and internationally.

The Hawkesbury area is well linked with Governor Lachlan Macquarie, who is also known as the "father of Australia". So in 2017 a new tartan was chosen, the 1815 muted Macquarie and the name change to the Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band.
Central Coast Scottish Spectacular

This Scottish Highland Gathering will be held at The Entertainment Grounds, Gosford on the first Sunday of November and will feature the NSW Pipe Band State Championships, and the Central Coast Scottish National Dancing Titles.

It is being presented by The Central Coast Scots, in conjunction with City of Gosford Pipe Band, Pipe Bands NSW, Central Coast Highland Dancing Incorporated, and the Gosford Scottish Country Dancers. The day will also include pipe bands displays, kids' amusement rides, market stalls and food trucks (with an emphasis on local and/or Scottish vendors).

There will also be a display of traditional Scottish "Strongman" events such as the caber toss, as well as the opportunity for the general public to participate in events such as the kilted dash and Scottish country dancing. Representatives from a number of Scottish Clans will be in attendance at the Scottish Spectacular, and visitors will be able to visit the clan stalls to find out more about their Scottish heritage.

It will be a great day out for the whole family.

The beautiful Tuggerah Lakes area will be taken over by more than 30 free events when the award winning Wyong Lakes Festival makes a big second year splash during November.



The nine day Festival is supported by Central Coast Council and will feature a program of sporting, family, cultural, educational, art and live music events on and surrounding the Tuggerah Lakes catchment area.



Celebrations will be focused around the six key event hubs of Memorial Park, The Entrance; Picnic Point; The Entrance, McKenzie Reserve at Budgewoi and the foreshores of Canton Beach at Toukley, Colongra Bay at Lake Munmorah and Long Jetty.

The opening weekend will feature a spectacular evening concert, free brunch by the lake, Colour Ya World, Triathlon plus much more. During the week there will be a range of education and community events, outdoor movie, and live bands event culminating in the closing weekend with an outdoor family event, outdoor cinema, folk festival, water obstacle course and street festival.

Brassed Off was a successful comedy/drama film starring Peter Postlethwaite and Ewan McGregor. Adapted for the stage and incorporating a full brass band, Wyong Drama Group present The Australasian Premiere (Professional or Amateur) of the stage play.

The story of the coal-mine closures and the family struggles, against the major issue: "can the Grimley Brass Band make the finals at the Albert Hall?" Featuring the Tuggerah Lakes Brass Band and local actors, this will be a great night out - and will send you home with a tear in your eye and a smile on your face.

The 4th Girrakool Blues Festival and Barbecue is a cultural, music and barbecue event held annually at Mt Penang Event Park on the Central Coast New South Wales.

International, national and local blues acts, an Australasian Barbecue Alliance Barbecue Competition, Indigenous Culture, all in a New Orleans themed Mardi Gra styled Festival under a big top tent.

There will be the Girrakool Soul Kitchen as well as Texan style barbecue, specialty market stalls, interactive art installations and during the breaks a roaming Festival Band. All with free camping and kids under five years of age free, in a family friendly relaxed atmosphere.

The “Barbecue Stand off” will be open to the public on Sunday, with approximately 50 teams competing from all over the country, market stalls showcasing all things barbecue, demonstrations, music, kids activities and kids under 12 free.

    Promising professional surfers from all over the world can look forward to four new World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 1000 events, when the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series kicks off on the NSW coastline.

    Thanks to a successful partnership between Surfing NSW, WSL, Destination NSW and NBN Television, four events (male and female) are slated to take place at Maroubra Beach, Cabarita Beach, Avoca Beach and Boomerang Beach over the next three years.

    The Vissla Central Coast Pro presented by Slimes is the third stop of the NSW Pro Surf Series located at Avoca Beach.

    The Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series has been developed for Australian and International surfers to gain ranking points and prize money on the WSL Qualifying Series. The series also creates a NSW coastal road trip for all to explore the variety of waves, visit local communities and enjoy NSW surfing culture.
Opera in the Arboretum

Opera in the Arboretum is an open-air festival of top Australian opera singers, held amongst the gum trees and kookaburras in the Pearl Beach Crommelin Native Arboretum.

Feature artists are Milijana Nikolic (Mezzo Soprano), Rosario La Spina (Tenor) and Antoinette Halloran (Soprano) and Christopher Tonkin (Baritone) - a line-up of Opera's best. Supported by guitarist, Giuseppe Zangari; continuo pianist, Francis Greep and the Central Coast Chamber Orchestra.

The event is an initiative of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy, providing a cultural event showcasing the talents of some of Australia's most respected opera performers. All proceeds go to support designated Rotary recipients and Rotary projects and charities.

From the producers of Prada’s Priscillas comes Les Divas: An all-male revue. Australia’s six-foot something songstress Prada Clutch and her divas, take you on a star-studded journey, celebrating the divas that have shaped music history.

The ninety-minute all-male revue includes some of the world’s greatest divas including: Cher, Barbara Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Diana Ross. Relive their greatest hits including: If I Could Turn Back Time, Get The Party Started, Proud Mary, I Will Always Love You and I'm Coming Out.

The show is headlined by Prada Clutch; one of Australia's most in demand live-singing drag queens. Prada has headlined stage shows across Australia, playing both major cities and regional towns.

The show is Creatively Directed by one of Australia’s original divas from Les Girls of Kings Cross, Monique Kelly. Monique was a cast member of Les Girls from 1973 to 1997.

The show features a cast of seven, choreographed by Stephen Clarke. Stephen has been Dancing and Choreographing professionally since 1985. Stephen’s experience extends to working with Aussie divas Kylie and Dannii Minogue, as well as international divas Cyndi Lauper and Diana Ross.
The StarViking: Soiree II

    The second of two very different Soirees, Sandy Bigara will perform as her alter ego: The StarViking. Held inside the beautiful historic St Mary’s Anglican Church built in 1858 in East Gosford, moved in 1905 stone by stone to Gosford, this venue is most definitely a must see for anyone passing through the Central Coast.

    Original cinematic operatic jazz pop fusion music that took her to number one in Australia for two months in 2017 in the online music charts. Performing in hand crafted intergalactic ballgowns covered with thousands of stitched and appliqued crystals, wearing Valkyrie inspired head gear and covered in twinkling lights, it’s an experience! There will be projected displays and creative lighting.

    The show will be opened by national and international singer Adam Matthew Johnson, and his wife Lea, they are ‘Ohana’.
Darren Coggan: A Rhinestone Cowboy

Central Coast Comicon

Pint of Science Festival: Central Coast

    Pint of Science is brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you.

    You don't need any prior knowledge, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science, and have a pint with them.

    The festival started in the UK and runs every May in nearly 300 cities across 21 different countries - Australians will be the first in the world to raise their glass to science! This year Pint of Science Australia will run 88 events across 16 cities.
Harvest Festival Central Coast

Central Coast Council is excited to present the ‘Harvest Festival Central Coast’ to be held on the June long weekend.

The event will take place over the weekend, and will run across the Calga, Somersby, Peats Ridge, Mangrove Mountain, Kulnura and Yarramalong areas.

It will be a festival to celebrate the fantastic local produce and unique producers from across the Central Coast. The festival will incorporate various free activities, entertainment, art as well as ticketed food experiences.

Enjoy the local area and its surrounds, sit and talk with local farmers, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the natural environment around you. The event will bring a unique experience and you will be able to follow an event trail, visit local farms, pick your own fruit and relax at the event hubs.

Harvest Festival Central Coast, has been developed with the input of local farmers, businesses and community groups.

Five Lands Walk

Five Lands Walk is a moderately easy walk that follows the spectacular Central Coast coastline for nine kilometres from MacMasters Beach to Terrigal, and includes free cultural and fun events near the Surf Clubs at each of the beaches including Copacabana, Avoca and North Avoca.

The Walk is timed to occur shortly after the winter solstice, to celebrate the coming of the warmer season and longer days. This is also the time of year when the humpback whales northern migration is well underway and may be seen from the shore line.
Shimano Mountain Bike Grand Prix - Ourimbah

The SHIMANO MTB Grand Prix Series is in its tenth year in 2018 - get ready for new venues! Every race is a stand-alone event and you collect points for a series ranking. This is your classic cross-country lap event - race solo or in teams for four or seven hours! They will deliver a set of events that is less of an elite- and winners-only-focused competition, but a positive and inclusive experience for all participants - on awesome trails at fun and exciting destinations that will make it worthwhile for your whole group of riding mates and for taking the family to! Race on Saturday, explore on Sunday!

This is round two at Ourimbah, Wyong New South Wales, which promises your classic, "old-school" race track in the bush! This is the "home track" of the Rocky Trail crew - right in the heart of the NSW Central Coast. Think: racing Saturday, beaches and cafes Sunday.

Fox Superflow sealed by Stan's - Ourimbah

Race the Fox Superflow sealed by Stan's in 2018 - there are six series events throughout the year and each race is a standalone event, but you can collect points for an overall ranking!

The Ourimbah trails will offer really "old-school" race tracks that will be fun to explore!

Why Superflow?
Because the race tracks are picked by the Rocky Trail crew so that they give the riders that "super flowy" feeling! Each timed section demands different skill sets of the riders - from tricky sections around rocks and tight corners to flowy berms and quick stints that needed pedal power and endurance.

No start order, no worries!
These events are unique Australia-wide in that they can offer an awesome day out to a wide range of riders - from elite to amateur racers to families, couples and groups of friends riding together. A very flexible timing system means no start orders and riders can pick the sequence in which to complete the timed race stages themselves. That way, riders of different categories can spend all day riding and racing together.

The Bays Art Show

Tucked away on the edge of Brisbane Water and the National Park, is the beautiful Bays Area, the Bays Community Group is hosting its 2019 Art Show.

Like every year the six artists being showcased are talented Central Coast professionals with varied styles and mediums. Paintings to Sculpture there is something for everyone. All artists will be spending time in the community hall over the weekend, interacting with visitors. So don’t miss the opportunity to discuss their work in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

All visitors will be warmly welcomed and all proceeds from the weekend go back into the community. Light refreshments can be purchased at the hall. A raffle will be drawn on the Sunday afternoon.

Touring annually, the Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour screens two hours of the most inspirational, heart-warming and entertaining films celebrating women in adventure from independent filmmakers around the globe.

The Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour includes a unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles, covering topics relevant to women in the outdoors who aren't afraid to get dirty in their pursuit of adventure.

The 2018 tour will screen over 20 times around Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Central Coast Ukulele Festival

The Central Coast Ukulele Festival festival is unique in that it brings people from all ages and walks of life together to make and enjoy music. The program is jam packed with ukulele clubs from across the state as well as professional ukulele acts. Entertainment is absolutely free on Saturday in Memorial Park, and on Sunday at the Sails Stage at The Entrance.

There is something for everyone with stalls, rides and free ukulele workshops throughout the weekend.
