The historic township of Clunes hit 'gold' with its inaugural 'Booktown for a Day' event.
Now booklovers can set aside the first weekend in May each year as the town transforms itself into a European-styled booktown.
For just one weekend each year, visting booksellers set up shop in the town's heritage buildings - bringing with them one of the largest collections of of rare, antiquarian and second-hand books ever gathered in one place in Victoria.
The event will take place over 2-3 May in 2009, from 9am to 4pm each day.
Writers' talks, fine wine , food and live music add to the enjoyment of the weekend.
