Don't miss the annual Tunarama Festival, a fun and lively event on the picturesque foreshore lawns of Port Lincoln. See the foreshore transformed into a bustling alley of stalls, sideshows and rides - with fun events, activities and competitions for everyone including the famous John West Tuna Toss Competition. The tuna toss attracts competitors travelling from far and wide in an effort to gain the coveted title or to at least 'have a go' at winning a slice of the AUD7,000 cash in prize money. The world record for this event is 37.23 metres set in 1998 by ex Olympic Hammer Thrower, Sean Carlin. The weight of the tuna for this event is approximately eight to 10 kilos for both men and women with two categories: athletic and amateur. Browse through more than 50 sites and stalls along the foreshore, which offer everything from food to art and craft and entertainment.
