The town of Ceduna comes alive for its annual Oysterfest, a weekend of entertainment, fine food and fun.
The Ceduna Oysterfest begins with a street parade. The streets are lined with locals and visitors waiting to catch a glimpse of the brightly decorated cars and floats, and to follow them down to the event site to indulge in the festivities that await.
Over the following days, visitors are treated to an array of music, dance and fine cuisine. Cultural diversity is highlighted and explored, competitions abound, and children are catered for with parties, story telling, hands-on workshops, face painting and fun activities. Seafood gourmet delights are available.
The Oysterfest has street activities running the length of the main business district. Visiting and local artists perform.
Ceduna has been described as a 'whole town at play' over this weekend and the 2009 festival will be another opportunity to showcase the Eyre Peninsula town's hospitality to all who visit.
