Inside the exhibition you can play everything from platformers, RPGs and digital board games to graphical adventures and puzzlers, there’s something for everyone, at every skill level.

Heyfield Market

Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition

This Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition is a biennial event held in the town of Yinnar.

The sculptures are located throughout the township of Yinnar along the main street and in the gardens, as well as in arc Yinnar exhibition spaces. Three prizes will be awarded, the Allen Prize for Exterior Sculpture $5,000, the Glover Prize for Interior Sculpture $2,000 and the Harry Ballis People's Choice Award $1,000.

Tarra Festival

Now in its 47th year, the Tarra Festival has grown in popularity and size each year. For 2019, the theme of the festival will be: Peace and Love.

The must-see activity is the Street Parade on Easter Saturday which includes floats from the local schools and community groups, horses, penny farthings, vintage cars, trucks and more. There are street entertainers, sausage sizzles, cake stalls and heaps of fun for everyone.

Prior to and after the street parade is the Yarram Market, now just off the main street, and afterwards is the Lions Family Fun Day. Activities run across the whole weekend with markets and a "Together we are One" Fair and fireworks in Port Albert on Sunday, the Monster Markets in Yarram on Monday, as well as a massive range of sport and recreation activities, the renowned Rotary Art Show, exhibitions and displays from most community groups, outdoor movies, social dance, authors talks and anything else we can think of turning on and showing off.

So whatever you are doing at Easter long weekend, why not experience Tarra Festival and make sure you do not miss one of Gippsland's biggest and most popular events.
Longford Good Friday Family Fun Day

Maffra Lawn Tennis Club Easter Tournament

The first Easter Tournament was hosted in 1922 on four asphalt courts at St Mary's Primary School. A perpetual Powerscourt Cup was awarded to the Mens Open Singles winner. Three time winners could keep the cup.

From 1937 to 1948, the tournament experimented with grass courts on the Recreation Reserve before founding their own in 1949. The opening featured a mixed doubles exhibition match between Frank Sedgman, Merv Rose, Nell Hopman and Nancy Bolton - all number ones in Australia.
Walk for the Kids

The George Bass walk is organised by the San Remo Hotel and The San Remo Traders Association and is held on Good Friday raising money for the Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

There are two walks on the day catering for people of all abilities. The George Bass walk is a picturesque eight kilometre walk on an uneven coastal walking track while the San Remo town Walk is much easier and designed for the family or those not able to walk the coastal track. The town walk is also a bit of fun with trivia questions that you answer along the way then at the end you go into a draw for an Easter hamper. Seaspray Easter Art Show

ShakesFeare Festival

The 2019 Shakespeare on the River festival embraces the role of supernatural in the works of William Shakespeare. From Hamlet’s dead father to the witches of Macbeth, The Bard invoked plenty of ghosts, sprites and things that go bump in the night to frighten his audience.

The festival runs over two weeks starting on Friday 26 April. In a big opening weekend Saturday 27 April sees The Bard’s Banquet, featuring the dark comedic talents of improv troupe The Soothplayers. This is one of the highlights of the Festival, often booking out weeks in advance.

In a change from tradition the popular market day will run on Saturday 4 May, starting at three o’clock in the afternoon and running into the evening. With the return of the pop up Shakesbeer bar, two live music stages, food stalls, craft makers and artisans at work, acting workshops and medieval games on the village green there is sure to be something for everyone.

You are also invited to come join in a guided ghost tour. Explore the darker side of old Stratford town then finish with a warm spiced cider by the Courthouse Theatre fire.

Hear from child protection and trauma specialist Annette Jackson and get guidance from DET on assessment and rating. Shop games, toys, educator resources and connect to community organisation. Get help for supporting children with diverse cultural backgrounds, disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and more.

Annette Jackson is the Regional Director of Berry Street Gippsland. For more than 35 years Annette has worked with at-risk children and families as a social worker. She was the Director of the Berry Street Take Two Program – a Victoria-wide therapeutic child protection program – for six years. She is particularly interested in childhood trauma and disrupted attachment, and therapeutic approaches towards recovery and strengthening relationships. Annette is also an experienced speaker, having presented at conferences from the USA, to Norway and China.

Expo schedule:

World Jousting Championship

The Space Between

Great East Rail Trail Ride

The Great East Rail Trail Ride is a fully supported three day cycle event along the 100 kilometre East Gippsland Rail Trail. This is a little Great Ride, with numbers limited to 130 people to ensure a splendid time is had by all.

With a daily riding distance between 30 and 40 kilometres (with extra sweat options provided for those who would like to ride further) this great ride is fabulous for families, new cyclists, old cyclists and those for whom cycling simply fills the intervals between eating and drinking.

Rail trails are for cyclists, walkers and horse riders only, so there will be no vehicular traffic along the route. Perfect for children and autophobes.

All meals and campsite accommodation is provided, with the option to upgrade to a cottage or pub and if you do not have a suitable bike you can hire a bike for the tour. Refer to website for further information.
Heyfield Food & Wine Festival

Awarded the 2017 Wellington Shire's Community Event of the Year, the Heyfield Food and Wine Festival is back on 20 October.

Set amongst the park-like grounds of the Wetlands, the day will feature the best of local vineyards, breweries and food producers. Live music and activities to keep the kids entertained make for a fun day out for the whole family.

Entry is $10 for adults (includes a tasting glass or stubby holder), kids entry is free.
Summit Survivor

Summit Survivor is the most obstacle-dense mud-run course in Victoria. There are an epic 39 obstacles across five kilometres. This will be the most fun, challenging, crazy day of your life. Walk, run or sprint your way through this epic course. Take on the giant slide, tunnels, mud, nets, beams, walls, zaps and so much more.

Summit Survivor is for adventurous 10 to 60 year olds. 87 percent of participants said they found it the 'ideal difficulty'. Beginners through to hard-core racers will get an awesome buzz and be pushed by the physical and mental challenges.

There is the five kilometre adult course and kids course for four to twelve year olds, with 23 obstacles across 1.3 kilometres. This is like Tough Mudder, but more fun. Build your team, dress up and really have fun with it - there are prizes for the best dressed. Summit Survivor is located only 90 minutes from Melbourne in Trafalgar East.
