|Each year in May, on the weekend closest to 23 May when HMB Endeavour anchored in Bustard Bay on the Queensland coast, they celebrate with a family friendly Festival.
In 2019 the 27th annual 1770 Festival theme is Experiences in Paradise. They think their towns of Agnes Water and 1770 are paradise and hope whether you are a local or an out of town visitor, you enjoy three days of great experiences.
Friday 24 May starts at 5pm with a re-enactment of Lt Cook and his crew coming ashore for only the second time on the east coast of Australia, then gates open on Saturday 25 at 9am with the fab and fun Festival Street Parade starting from 1770 Marina 9.30am, finishing at the Festival Grounds.
Live and local music, food street, many varied market stalls, with interactive demonstrations and workshops for kids and adults alike.
A fun family adventure around the festival site, they are beginning preparations for Festival in 2020 with the creation of a Harmony Wall where all visitors are encouraged to contribute.
