Birregurra is a quaint Historic village on the Barwon River. It is 130 kilometres (approximately 1.5 hour's drive) from Melbourne or approximately half an hour inland from Lorne.
What is Elliminook?
'Elliminook' is a beautifully restored brick homestead set on 74 acres. It was built for a pioneer farmer in 1865 of local hand made bricks and is classified by the National Trust of Australia. It is elegantly furnished with antiques and period furniture, works of art and collectibles.
B&B Accommodation
The Bromfield Room, originally the kitchen, is a spacious air conditioned room with queen bed, exposed bricks, butt jointed hardwood floor, original bakers oven and open wood fire.
The Hayes Room is a compact room with a double iron and brass bed and overlooks the garden arches.
The Hope Room is air conditioned with fresh colours, an antique queen size four poster bed, polished floor with rugs.
The Gilpin Room has air conditioning, queen bed and Baltic pine walls and ceiling.
All rooms have ensuites, fridge, electric kettle, and TV, clock radio and wireless internet connection.
Self-contained South Wing
The Gilpin room and adjoining Edmundson room with private sitting room and kitchenette is available with or without breakfast. A gas barbecue is available for guests use.
Things to do
Enjoy the garden roses, historic trees and shrubs, the courtyard with massed iceberg roses, the deck with water feature and the croquet lawn pavilion. Tennis, garden croquet and boules are on site
Indulge in a slow lunch on Saturday or Sunday at iconic Sunnybrae restaurant or enjoy the cooking school on Mondays.
Day tours include Lorne, Apollo Bay, The Great Ocean Road, The Otway Fly and Triplet Falls, forests and waterfalls of the Otway Ranges, The Twelve Apostles and volcanic craters and lakes.
