Mungabareena Reserve is an important cultural reserve that has significance to many Aboriginal tribes in this region. It is where Aboriginal peoples from different tribes meet to trade before continuing towards Mount Bogong to hunt for Bogong moths. The Ngan Girra Festival is held here every November.

Blowhole and the Rocks
The Blowhole is said to be sacred to the Ulupna and Bangaragn Aboriginal Tribes and when the Murray River is low, the Blowhole flows and bubbles. It is said that it seems to come alive. The Blowhole is situated on a Granite outcrop, approximately 11 kilometres north of the town.
