The Nelson's Honey Factory not only supplies the local market but is now one of NSW largest suppliers for the honey corporation of Australia.
The Boggabri-Narrabri area is the most suitable area for beekeeping because of the abundant flowering trees, especially white and yellow box and the narrow leafed iron bark which grow prolifically in both Pilliga Scrub and the foot hills of Mt Kaputar National Park.
The Nelson's have installed a state of the art extraction plant in Boggabri.
Extracting takes place between spring and autumn.
