You are invited to attend the 63rd Australian Jazz Convention in Lismore, on the 26 - 31 December. The convention will be held in a number of venues through out Lismore, which are within walking distance of each other.
Lismore played host to the memorable 60th Convention in 2005 and is gearing up again to welcome back the musicians and delegates for the 63rd. This December, Lismore will be inundated with a flood of Jazz musicians and enthusiasts who will fill the city with live, foot tapping Jazz. The event will attract musicians and delegates from all over Australia, some of whom have been attending the event since its establishment in 1946.
The Australian Jazz Convention is a wonderful tradition that provides a great opportunity for professional, semi professional and amateur musicians to get together and combine their talents to produce the music they love. The Australian Jazz Convention is the longest running jazz event in the world, where delegates from all over Australia meet, exchange ideas and views, renew old friendships and play jazz. As well as concert sessions and impromptu jams there is also a Welcome Night, Jazz Picnic and New Years Eve Bash for fully registered musicians and delegates. One of the real highlights will be the New Orleans style street parade around 'City Block.'
Check out the The Lismore Jazz Club website for venue details, you can download venue map, registration forms and see who is playing during the convention.
