Stanley is a classified historic town. You can explore its beautifully preserved 19th century buildings, browse through craft shops and potteries or visit local tearooms. The Nut is a dramatic geological feature of the area. Discovered by explorers Bass and Flinders in 1798, the 143m high Nut is the stump of an ancient volcano. You can try the challenging climb to the top, or take the chairlift to enjoy breathtaking ocean views.
