Founded in 1840, Sandalford Wines is one of Australia’s oldest, largest and most prestigious privately owned wineries.
Sandalford is well known for its award-winning Margaret River wines but also as being a premier tourist attraction located just 20 minutes from Perth city, in the heart of the Swan Valley. Sandalford has gained a strong reputation in wine tourism, earning the 2005 Sir David Brand Award at the West Australian Tourism Awards in 2005 and being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.
Sandalford boasts numerous facilities including an award-winning a la carte restaurant that showcases alfresco dining under 160-year old vines, a number of stylish wedding and function facilities, outdoor concerts, festivals and events, Perth's first luxury river cruiser the Miss Sandalford, wine appreciation and blending classes and our Cellar Door offering wine tasting and sales, giftware and branded merchandise.
Guests can participate in a range of tours available at Sandalford. For the time constrained, the Sandalford Experience operates daily and takes approximately 1¼ hours to complete. This begins with a tour of the winery and follows with a wine appreciation where guests learn how to assess wine through colour, nose and palate. This operates daily and costs $24.00 per person (discount offered for groups of six or more).
For a more immersed insight into the winemaking process, Sandalford’s Winemaker for a Day course takes guests through the process of creating our award-winning wine, before experiencing the thrill of blending your own! A set three-course lunch concludes the day in our picturesque restaurant where you’ll be able to enjoy your special blend. Upon departure, you will also receive a bottle of wine with a twist! Bookings are essential, $110 per person.
