The McCormick Centre for the Environment in Renmark is a public facility designed to support environmental education and research, nature-based tourism and to serve the community as a unique resource. The centre contains a 115-seat lecture theatre, research and teaching laboratories, catering facilities, a reception area for functions, rooms for meetings and offices, and public education displays about the Murray-Darling Basin that will introduce users to the region's natural resources and ecosystems.
Educators, researchers, community members committed to environmental restoration of the River Murray and its wetlands, and visitors to the area are served by the Centre. It is an important tourism destination in the region and is a valuable resource for schools, the wine industry and other horticultural interests.
