|Festival of the Falling Leaf|

|Autumn in Tumut offers one of the most spectacular display of seasonal colours to be found anywhere in New South Wales.
In 1954 the local headmaster, Alf Wood, introduced the idea of a festival to celebrate the arrival of autumn and the falling leaves which characterised the townâs many parks and gardens.
Alf enlisted the support of the Rotary Club of Tumut and The Tumut Festival of the Falling Leaf was born.

|The John Briscoe Memorial Art Prize is the Monaro's most prestigious art award and is sponsored by the Briscoe family in memory of their father, a prominent Monaro artist.
There are a variety of categories recognising the artistic talent in the Cooma Monaro and Snowy River Region. These include water colours, oils and more. Awards are given in the category sections, overall best entry and viewer's choice.
Artists are invited to submit work to be judged for generous prizes.

All members of the Orpheus Piano Trio are established performers in their own rights, and have gained experience performing and studying internationally throughout Europe, Asia and Australia.
Orpheus Piano Trio perform regularly in Castlemaine, Albury, Bendigo, Wangaratta, and Wagga Wagga, but have also had engagements in Melbourne, Bright, Wodonga, Deniliquin and Cope-Williams Winery in Romsey.

Robert has played works including the Liszt second piano concerto and the Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini with orchestras in New Zealand and Australia. He has performed with a number of international artists including David Pereira, Jack Glatzer and George Zukerman. Since moving to Canberra in 1996 he has appeared as a soloist, accompanist and chamber music player. Robert is a Fellow of the Wesley Music Centre. He currently practices as a specialist in endocrinology and diabetes in Canberra and rural New South Wales.

|New additions to the ski racing world are set to make their debut as the Blue Cow Cup continues to serve as an important platform for all junior skiers to either test-the-waters of racing or show the others how it's done!
Competing in Alpine and Skier-cross, this event (and a hand-full of others like it) have proved to be the testing ground where nearly all of Australia's National team honed their skills and/or added the first silver to the trophy cabinet.
On August 3 and 4, courses across the resort area will play host to the age categories of Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Juniors to test or develop their racing skills and a new generation of youth will step onto the scene with glory in their sights.

|The Perisher Junior Mogul Championships will be held on 3 - 4 August in Perisher is a fun and exciting event designed to introduce young athletes to the next level of competition, and provides a challenging environment for Junior moguls athletes to show their stuff in a fun competition environment. The competition is held on a slightly more difficult course than Interschools and includes a time component to measure speed on the moguls as part of the overall score awarded.
The course usually has two jumps, requiring the athlete to ski moguls after landing the top air. This is an introduction to high level competition and a similar format to what would be experienced on World Cup and Olympic venue courses. A training day on 2 August gives all athletes a chance ot ski the competition course in preparation for single an duals moguls competition.

|Escape the city and head inland on a three-day photography tour with professional photographer Alfonso Calero this spring.
This photography workshop will take you to Laurel Hill in New South Wales where you will find the Canola Fields and the breathtaking Sugar Pine Walk. From Friday night to Sunday morning, under Alfonso's guidance, you will shoot astrophotography, the yellow canola fields and towering sugar pines. During the tour you will spend a few hours per day walking on uneven surfaces so a basic level of fitness is recommended.
The workshop includes a total of 15 hours of photography direction. This includes:

|The Dalgety Team Penning horse riding event is run by the Dalgety Show Society on the Saturday and is an event the whole family can enjoy.
The Team Penning event involves a team of four riders, three of which must cut three head of cattle with the same colour neck collar from the herd of 21 cattle in a yard.
Barbecue and bar facilities will also be operating.

Lanterns on the Lagoon features a sculpture competition, the sculptures being created from recycled and natural materials. The sculptures are displayed in Pioneer Park by the Tumut River, and the magnificent trees and beautiful lagoon provide a serene backdrop for the works of art. During the evening the sculptures are enhanced by solar lighting giving them another dimension.
Lanterns are released onto the lagoon just prior to dusk, and become a spectacular display of light and reflection.

|2019: The Hume and Hovell Ultra 100 kilometres has been selected by the Australian Ultra Running Association, AURA, as the Long Trail, Australian National Championships as part of the event.
Hume and Hovell Ultra - 100 mile, 100 kilometres, 50 kilometres and 22 kilometres on a section of the historic Hume and Hovell Walking Track with an overall elevation of 4088 metres. All distances except the 22 kilometres are out and back from Henry Angel Trackhead, nine kilometres south of Tumbarumba on the Tooma Road.
Located in the stunning Snowy Mountains, the Hume Hovell Ultra will challenge your ability as well as inspire your success. Run with the wild brumbies, past pioneer cottages and through rugged mountain ranges, natural forests, pine plantations, past lakes and waterfalls, along narrow winding (95 percent) of single trails.
All finishers receive medals and certificates. Recognised by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) , earning points to enter the prestigious Ultra Trail Mont Blonc (UTMB). International Bronze Label holder and under the Australian Ultra Runners Association (AURA) banner.

|The Australian National Busking Championships (ANBC) is now in its eighth year.
The event is now held in several towns around Australia, including Stanthorpe, Narooma, Ballarat and Gundagai.
The finals are then held in the picturesque town of Cooma, gateway to the Snowy Mountains in Southern NSW.
The ANBC is a celebration of all styles of music because the Buskers who perform bring a huge variety of music to the event.
Judges roaming throughout the day select a number of Buskers to perform at the finals concert held in Centennial Park later that afternoon.

|The annual Man From Snowy River Rodeo event has been running since 1943, originally in Old Jindabyne and now at John Connors Oval, Park Road, Jindabyne Sports Ground.
Action includes Open and Novice Bulls, Saddle Bronc, Bareback Horses, Poley Buck Jump, Ladies Barrel Race, Junior Steer ride and Junior Barrel Races. There is also a Ladies Steer Ride for 18 years and over competitors - helmets and vests are required.
Gates open from 10:30am with the action to commence at 11am.
It's always a great day out for the family with side shows, food stalls, barbecue and bar facilities available.
To all those who attended the 2018 event a very big Thank You from the Committee for making the day a wonderful success. They invite you to attend again in 2019, bring your friends and make it another fantastic day and ensure the continuation of this long running Snowy Mountains event.

|Tumbarumba Rodeo is held every year on New Year's Day.
This is a full APRA Championship Rodeo with a host of fun-filled events including local barrel race, poddy ride, bucking ponies, stallion chute out, poly saddle ride, Aussie Rules versus Rugby League steer ride challenge, saddle bronc and bareback, and bull ride featuring the big ScreenBull cam, chute cam and instant replays.
There are full bar facilities and evening entertainment.

|The Numeralla Folk Festival is held over three days and takes in Australia Day.
2019 is the forty-fifth year of the Numeralla Folk Festival.
|Cooma Australia Day Celebrations|

|Head to Centennial Park in Cooma and celebrate Australia Day with a great day of music, exhibitions and displays of what's great in the region. Food will also be available.
The official ceremony will commence at 12pm at the band shell in the Park. Come and join in the fun.
|Snowies MTB Festival|

|The iconic Snowy Mountains will once again play host to the ultimate mountain bike experience where riders will be challenged with six stages across three days in rugged mountain terrain. Starting at an altitude of 1260 metres, riders will be tested with over 100 kilometres of rugged mountain terrain, technical single track, a mammoth ascent, and some awe inspiring downhills, making this one of Australiaâs most iconic mountain bike stage races.
This event also includes the âThredbo All Mountain Descentâ with a chairlift to the top of Eagles Nest in the shadow of Australiaâs highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko followed by six kilometres of epic cross country downhill.
Join them in what is arguably Australiaâs most affordable and logistically convenient MTB stage race where you can just relax and focus on the epic riding that only the iconic Snowies can deliver.
Tackle all six stages as a solo; Or share the riding between a team of two or three where one person completes each stage, except for Stage Five; Or choose to do just the 45 kilometre marathon, 30 kilometre or 15 kilometre XC MTB on Sunday in this ânot to be missedâ Mountain Bike Experience.

Trail Run Australia Snowy Mountains is hosted in conjunction with the TreX Cross Triathlon Series which together make up an action packed weekend of off road events for the entire family.
Taking in some of the most spectacular mountain scenery this ultra trail run is back in 2019 after a sell out at the inaugural 2018 event.
In 2019 the festival is set to add the all new Thredbo Valley Trail from Jindabyne to Lake Crackenback to the course which will delight, challenge and inspire trail runners of all ages and abilities.
