Date Sun 5th Aug 2018 to Sun 7th Apr 2019
This exhibition forms part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Bundanon Trust.

Over thirty years ago, Arthur and Yvonne Boyd had a vision to create a world-class centre for the creative arts where artists from all disciplines could share and draw inspiration from the Bundanon properties and Shoalhaven landscape.

The gift of Bundanon was accepted on 23 March 1993 by the Prime Minister Paul Keating. An informal Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program commenced at Riversdale soon after. In February 1998 the Bundanon Artists Centre was completed and the AIR program was established.

Now the largest residency program of its kind in the country, the AIR program provides creative time and space for around 350 artists a year. This has increased tenfold since the early years of the Trust.

All works in this exhibition were donated by artists from the residency program and are from the Bundanon Trust Collection.

Food Fighter Screening Ulladulla
Date Mon 20th Aug 2018
Rosanna Swarts brings you this special fundraising screening of Food Fighter: One Woman's Crusade Against Waste! Make sure you arrive early because the film will commence at 6:30pm sharp.

Ronni Kahn used to be a contributor to Australia’s annual AUD20 billion food waste bill when she ran a successful corporate events company producing million-dollar dinners.

Then she realised the absurdity of throwing away perfectly edible food, trading capitalism for social activism by founding OzHarvest, a food rescue charity, in 2004. Filmed over two years and across four continents, ‘Food Fighter’ follows Ronni’s crusade against the global food waste scandal, partnering with the United Nations in Bangkok, rubbing shoulders with British royalty and Jamie Oliver’s juggernaut in London, and holding big business and the government to account in Australia.

Please note: Enough tickets must be sold to ensure this screening goes ahead, if it doesn't happen those funds will be refunded—no one loses out!
Madame Butterfly
Date Wed 22nd Aug 2018 to Thu 23rd Aug 2018
It is one of the theatre’s greatest love stories. Enchanted by the beauty of the east, the American sailor Pinkerton takes a young geisha for his wife. The innocent Butterfly falls helplessly, hopelessly in love.

But every ship must return to its shore, and Pinkerton returns home, leaving Butterfly behind. Music of impossible beauty traces this story from the lovers' first, rapturous embrace to the intense, powerful finale.

One of Australia’s greatest theatrical minds, John Bell, directs this English-language production, complete with beautiful costumes and sets. Hear Opera Australia’s wonderful singers perform with a chamber orchestra, along with a children’s chorus, drawn from the local community.
Protection Screening
Date Wed 22nd Aug 2018
Barnardos Australia brings you this special screening of Protection!

Made collaboratively with children from public housing areas in the Illawarra. Protection uses a unique blend of film and animation to tell stories about childhood. It is inspired by the lives and experiences of the film’s adventurous and often hilarious young cast.

There’s a re-telling of Goldilocks—featuring a display home and a big, bad real estate agent. There’s witches, parties and billy cart derbies, and a lovely wedding to an imaginary prince. And there are also stories of bullying and racism, death and grief and facing up to your fears and mistakes.

These are stories told by kids from their perspective making Protection a celebration of childhood and a tribute to the resilience of children.

The company behind this project is Beyond Empathy—a not-for-profit organisation.

Please note: Enough tickets must be sold to ensure this screening goes ahead, if it doesn't happen those funds will be refunded—no one loses out!

Flight Facilities and Special Guests
Date Sat 25th Aug 2018
After confirming their now legendary status by instantly selling out a run of dates earlier this year, Australia’s favourite electronic producers Flight Facilities today announce another huge national tour in support of gorgeous new single All Your Love.

Still riding high on the back of the success of recent release Need You, the boys will be showing off their much-loved back catalogue and a red-hot string of new hits at shows all across the country this August and September.

Four years on from debut album Down To Earth, Flight Facilities could be forgiven for taking some time off to put their feet up. As far as debuts go, theirs was a bonanza. Spawning two symphony concerts, an ARIA award, a Top Five chart placing and two of the most recognisable Australian dance works of a generation in Crave You and Clair De Lune, the record was a runaway success for the duo.

Not wanting to rest on their laurels and feed the industry beast, the boys decided their next move was to buck the album trend and focus on releasing singles rather than long-form projects.

Teddy Cream
Date Wed 12th Sep 2018
Who is Teddy Cream? Rewind back to 2010, two young individuals at the ripe young age of 13 come together to make a one-off track. Unknowing to them, this one song would set off a motion of events and an everlasting friendship, leading to one of the hottest young duos to have ever risen out of the Melbourne club scene.

Today these boys go by none other than Teddy Cream. They have grown in stature since those early days, and have amassed a 'modest' 320,000 followers on Facebook and Soundcloud respectively.

They started off destroying dance floors at every significant underage event around Melbourne, before starting to play at well known nightclubs around Victoria and interstate (which includes a Cloud Nine residency in Melbourne). However, it is their production that is really setting them apart from the pack.

See Eventfinda for more information.

Together with Bach and Dowland this is a program full of inspirational music and palpable emotions.

L'Heure Exquise featuring Jose Carbo Trio
Date Fri 14th Sep 2018
Named after Reynaldo Hahn’s 1892 masterpiece L’Heure Exquise, this remarkably diverse hour of music hypnotizes with its cosmic beauty and lilting tenderness, and electrifies with its impassioned bravado and drama: with music by Schubert, Faure, Verdi, Debussy, de Falla, and more, re-imagined for a pioneering musical setting of just two guitars.

The trio first appeared together on stage at Canberra’s 2015 Voices in the Forest concert, where they performed music from Carbo’s ARIA-nominated album My Latin Heart. With the success of this performance, Carbo suggested collaborating on some European, classical works long close to his heart yet which, for the most part, had never been heard with a guitar accompaniment. Verdi’s Cortigiani (from the opera Rigoletto), Schubert’s fiendish Erlkönig, and Debussy’s enchanting Romance are just a few names that emerge from this daring and eclectic collection of original arrangements.

Whilst retaining their original charm, these pieces gain a fresh perspective through the direct touch and wide variety of colours and effects unique to the guitar, making them at once sensually appealing and immediately accessible.

When a ballet troupe comes to the sleepy town of Shaggy Gully Josephine learns that there is another way to dance – ballet. Who else could leap that high?

Date Fri 26th Oct 2018 to Sat 8th Dec 2018

A prerequisite for the award was made that those works selected to hang depict their subjects accurately without abstraction and demonstrate a sound skill and knowledge of drawing and painting technique. The award was established with a specific and unremitting realist bent, which continues to this day.

Before her death in 2005, Hannan doubled the prize purse to AUD30,000 and it was decided to discard the figure drawing component of the prize, concentrating on portraiture alone.

In 2012, Hannan's son Peter, himself a talented photographer, paid further tribute to his mother's memory with a generous personal donation of an additional AUD20,000 bringing the prize purse for subsequent awards to AUD50,000.

But there’s a distinctly historical feel to this show. With its tales of Britain’s fortunes past and present, of ancient Viking battles, of Shakespeare’s contribution to comedy, and Bill’s own ancestry, this is both a mockery and a celebration of national identity.
