“Glen Campbell has always been an inspiration to me, from a very early age, he was the reason I wanted to be a country singer, in fact my parents have cassette tapes of me singing Rhinestone Cowboy at the age of about 4. I had the honour of touring with Glen on his Australian tour in 1997, opening up his show each night as a fresh faced, 24 year-old from Wagga Wagga. Glen went out of his way to make me feel welcome, watching my performance from the wings each night and encouraging me to take the road less travelled and be myself.” Reflected Darren.

Date Sat 6th Jul 2019
Two bored kids. One rainy day. And one crazy cat wearing a red-striped hat.

The play was adapted for the stage in 2009 by the National Theatre of Britain. The Cat in The Hat interrupts this rainy afternoon with his unexpected visit to Sally and her brother’s cosy home. Their outspoken and outraged pet Fish is astounded and concerned, but this cat will not be deterred. He will teach us all to make our own fun with nothing but a little imagination. “It’s fun to have fun, but you have to know how.” Along with Thing One and Thing Two, the cat will fill the theatre with mischievous humour and madcap style.

Young and old alike will delight in this faithful adaptation of a classic book come to life before our very eyes. Spoiler alert: Things run amuck, and quickly!

Having debuted his show to a sold-out season at the 2018 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and two sell-out shows at Palms At Crown Melbourne (for which he attracted a standing ovation each night), Johnny’s real wild nephew – the multi-talented Andrew O’Keefe – delivered an extraordinary performance in Andrew O’Keefe “Shouts” Johnny O’Keefe. Highly applauded by the critics for his song interpretation and his storytelling, Andrew intertwines his own experiences with legendary stories of The Wild One, and takes audiences on a very personal journey through JOK’s twenty-five year career, belting out classics like ‘Wild One’ ,`Sing Sing Sing` and ‘Shout’ with an intensity topped only by Johnny himself.

The key to Bjorn Again’s success is in not just delivering ABBA’s biggest hits to perfection in a lavish production, but incorporating a healthy dose of parody and stage theatrics. So beware of ‘Swenglish’ accents, flares, platform shoes, glitzy sequinned outfits, heaps of blue eye-shadow and all those daggy dance routines. Bjorn Again generates an audience atmosphere that has to be seen to be believed – as it says in Dancing Queen: “You will have – the time of your life”.

“Fans had better make the most out of Bjorn Again because that’s the closest they are going to get to seeing ABBA. ABBA will never reform!” – Benny Andersson of ABBA
