The Etchells Australian Winter Championship is an annual event. It has been conducted by the Mooloolaba Etchells Fleet continuously for the last 12 years. The event attracts the best Australian and New Zealand Etchells sailors to Queensland. Its previous place getters have included America's Cup sailors, Sydney to Hobart Race skippers, Olympians. The number of entries continues to grow with fleet entries in 2007 being 52, one up from the previous year and ten more than the number of entries to the Etchells World Championships conducted in England in the same month. The 2008 event grew to a fleet of 54 boats. |
