Home Hill Devonport Home Hill is the home of former Australian Prime Minister Joseph Lyons, located in Devonport. The house was built by Joseph Lyons and his family in 1916, where he lived with his wife Dame Enid Lyons and their 12 children.

Joe Lyons Cottage Stanley Joseph Aloysius Lyons was born in this tiny cottage in Stanley in 1879. He was a teacher before joining the Workers' Political League and this led him into politics. By 1914 he was deputy leader of the Labor Party. In 1923 he was elected State Premier.

Franklin House Franklin Village Franklin House is convict built and located in northern Tasmania at Franklin Village, Launceston. Built by former convict and successful businessman Britton Jones, Franklin House is notable for its rich use of imported Australian Red Cedar.

Norske Skog Boyer Newsprint has been made at Boyer since 1941. Tours are available Tuesdays and Thursdays for groups to see the papermaking process from start to finish. The duration of the tour is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Maximum size of party is 15 persons, minimum size party 6 persons.

Kangaroo Bluff Historic Site Bellerive Kangaroo Bluff Historic Site at Bellerive is a gun emplacement and fort built in 1880. In 1873, someone thought they spotted two Russian warships on the River Derwent. The gun emplacement and fort were built in 1880 as a result.

Oatlands Gaol House (1835) Oatlands The Oatlands Gaol House is heritage-listed building at Oatlands in the Tasmanian Midlands. Oatlands is an hour’s drive north of Hobart (84 kilometres/52 miles). Oatlands was established as a military garrison in 1827 and was the primary military outpost in inland Tasmania.

Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site Hobart City The Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site in Hobart incorporates more than 160 years of Tasmanian penal history. Building a church above solitary confinement cells was Colonial Architect John Lee Archer’s innovative solution to the need for both as Hobart’s convict population continued to grow in the 1820’s.

Margate Train - The Margate The Margate Train offers shopping with a difference at Margate, southern Tasmania. Margate is 20 minutes south of Hobart (19 kilometres /12 miles) and a short drive south of Kingston. The Margate Train—formerly known as the Tasman Limited—made its final rail journey on 28 July 1978.
