Celebrate and enjoy the festivities of the coming of Chinese New Year. The 2009 Chinese New Year falls on Monday January 26 - the Year of the Ox (Bull). For two weeks the Chinese New Year is celebrated around Darwin with lion dances and blessing ceremonies in the city, Casuarina and Palmerston. The main event is the popular Chinese New Year Banquet at SKYCITY Darwin, which comprises a nine-course banquet and local Chinese entertainment. Everyone is welcome, but places fill quickly.
