Beccles on Margaret is a 1938 “Custom” Queensland Bungalow, as described by the Heritage Advisory Group of the Toowoomba City Council. It is located in East Toowoomba near the crest of the range (700 metres above sea level). This is at the east end of Margaret Street, or Eat Street as it is affectionately referred to by the “locals” because of the many restaurants located in the street. A leisurely 15 minute walk down Margaret or Arthur Streets (next parallel street) and through Queens Park and the Botanical Gardens will find you in the Central Business District. You may wish to take a short break along the way to enjoy a coffee in one of the heritage restaurants and/or browse through one of the many antique shops in town. |
