Cobbold Gorge, a Savannah Guide Station located on a working cattle property, is hidden away in the Gulf Savannah region of North Queensland. This unique narrow gorge is set amid rugged sandstone formations with spectacular 30 metre cliffs that narrow to just two metres wide. A cruise through this unusual gorge is an awesome and unforgettable experience. In order to protect the fragile environment, access is by guided tour where you will cruise peacefully through the gorge, in an electric powered boat. Two tours are available - The Gorge Tour and the Station Tour, both of three hours duration.
Cobbold Gorge offers something to suit everyone including those who enjoy the thrill of a scenic helicopter flight. There is no need to rough it as accommodation ranges from modern air conditioned ensuite rooms, to shady campsites and powered caravan sites in their well grassed camping area. McDonalds Deck provides snacks, meals and includes a licensed bar to relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere.
