The Mareeba Tropical Savanna and Wetland Reserve is located 6.5 kilometres north of the township of Mareeba on the Cairns Highlands. It is an easy one hour drive north west of Cairns, or one hour south west of Port Douglas with a clearly signposted turn-off on the highway at Biboohra. It is a total of seven kilometres from the Biboohra turnoff to the Visitor Centre - four kilometres to the Reserve entry gate, and a further three kilometres to the Visitor Centre reception carpark.
