Cooktown Golf Links Cooktown Cooktown Golf Links is a public nine-hole course (with dual tees) situated just five kilometres south of Cooktown on Quarantine Bay Road. Constructed on a natural sand belt, the course is built in the tropical bush that borders Walker Bay and the Annan River.

Golden Gumboot Tully Originally the Golden Gumboot was a competition between Tully, Innisfail and Babinda as to which town is the wettest in Australia. The winner for the competition (since 1970) was awarded with a rubber boot and with an annual rainfall of up to seven metres – Tully was the winner.
